Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

Mantle ("Mantle," "we," "us") is a personal and family planning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Mantle, you acknowledge the practices described here.

1. Information you provide

Mantle stores the information you choose to enter, which may include: your name and household and family details; the names, ages, birthdays, and personality or preference notes for children you add; your location or ZIP code (for weather and local activity suggestions); your weekly schedule and commitments; tasks and to-dos; financial information you manually enter such as income figures, pay frequency, tax withholding inputs, expenses, budgets, and savings goals; meal preferences, dietary restrictions, and grocery lists; and wellness inputs such as fitness goals, body stats you choose to provide, mood check-ins, water intake, supplements, and generic medication-reminder times.

2. Information we do not collect

Mantle does not ask for or store the names, dosages, or details of any medications you take. The medication-reminder feature stores only generic time-of-day reminders with no associated drug information. We do not collect government identifiers or payment card numbers within the app experience, and we never see or store your bank login credentials (see Section 6 on linked bank accounts).

3. How your information is stored

Your data is saved locally on your device and synced to your account so it is available across your devices. Account authentication and data storage are handled through Supabase, our backend provider. Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit.

4. AI-powered features

When you use a feature that generates suggestions — including daily plans, meal ideas, grocery lists, workout plans, macro targets, supplement suggestions, financial insights, and activity ideas — the relevant context you have entered is sent to our third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. This information is used solely to fulfill your request. It is not used to serve you advertising. AI outputs are generated by a statistical model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances.

If you choose to categorize a linked-account purchase (see Section 6) by taking a photo of a receipt, that photo is sent to our AI provider so it can read the purchase details, and is not stored afterward.

5. Calendar access (optional)

If you choose to connect a calendar, Mantle reads event titles, times, locations, and notes from the calendars on your device for a rolling window of roughly the past day through the next 28 days, using Apple's on-device Calendar framework. This is used only to build your daily plan around commitments you already have, which includes sending relevant event details to our AI provider as part of generating your plan (see Section 4). Mantle does not create, edit, or delete anything on your calendar, and calendar data is never sent to or stored on our servers — it stays on your device. You can disconnect calendar access at any time from the app's menu, or by revoking permission in your device's Settings.

6. Linked bank accounts (optional)

If you choose to link a bank or credit card account, Mantle connects to it through Plaid, a third-party financial data provider. We never see or store your bank login credentials — that exchange happens directly between you and Plaid. Once linked, we receive and store your institution name, account name/type and last-four-digit identifier, balances, and transaction history, which we use to power the Linked Accounts view in Finance. We do not receive your full account or routing numbers. Linking is only available on paid plans (Plus/Family). You can disconnect a linked account at any time from Finance, which removes it from future syncing; Plaid's own privacy practices govern how they handle data during the connection itself.

7. Household data sharing (optional)

If you create or join a household with another Mantle user, certain categories of data — Finance, Kids, Recipes, and Grocery lists — are shared between household members. Each member keeps their own personal daily plan, health data, and other information private; only the categories above become visible to the rest of your household. Leaving a household stops future sharing but does not retroactively remove what other members already saw while you were connected.

8. Children's information

Mantle is intended for use by adults (parents and guardians) who may enter information about their own children to receive family-oriented suggestions. Mantle is not directed to children, and children should not create their own accounts. Information you enter about a child is treated as your household data and is subject to this policy. Do not enter sensitive medical, diagnostic, or identifying information about a child beyond what is needed for the app's planning features.

9. How we use your information

We use your information only to operate and improve the app's features for you: to personalize suggestions, sync your data across devices, and maintain your account. We also use basic product analytics — such as which features are used and when key steps like account creation are completed — to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This analytics data is limited to event names, timestamps, and technical details like device/browser type; it does not include the content of your plans, finances, health data, or other information you enter into the app. We do not sell your personal information. We do not display third-party advertising, and we do not allow advertisers to target you within Mantle.

10. Third-party service providers

We rely on a small number of service providers to run Mantle, including a hosting and deployment provider (Netlify), an authentication and database provider (Supabase), an AI generation provider (Anthropic), a financial data provider for linked bank accounts (Plaid, see Section 6), and a product analytics provider (PostHog) used as described in Section 9. These providers process data only as needed to provide their service to us and are bound by their own terms and privacy commitments.

11. Data retention and deletion

Your information is retained for as long as your account is active. You can edit or remove information at any time within the app. Deleting your account removes your synced data from our active systems, including disconnecting any linked bank accounts; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

12. Your choices

You can review and edit nearly all of your information directly in the app. You control whether to provide optional information such as location, financial figures, or wellness inputs, and whether to link a bank account or join a household; the corresponding features simply won't function fully without them.

13. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Mantle after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

15. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the "Share feedback or report a bug" option in the Mantle app menu.

Life, beautifully managed.
